Get Started with Solfare
Solflare is a next generation non-custodial wallet that enables universal access to the Solana blockchain and its associated applications.
Along with a robust web wallet and browser extension, Solflare offers a mobile app for both iOS and Android that includes an in-app browser, in-app staking and swapping capabilities, blockchain notifications, Solana Pay compatibility, 60 frames per second refresh rates for NFTs, and more.
Step 1
How to Generate a Wallet with a Recovery Phrase
1. Go to Solflare.com and click [Download for Chrome].
2. You will be redirected to the Chrome extensions page. Click [Add to Chrome].
3. Click [Add extension].
4. Now you can access Solfare desktop extension. click [Continue].
5. The desctop extension is located on the top left corner of your screen. Click [Enter Solana].
6. You will be redirected to the solfare onboarding page. Click [ I Need a New Wallet].
7. Recovery Phrase
- Write down your Recovery Phrase and store it in a safe location.
- Once you have done so, click [I Saved My Recovery Phrase].
Note: You can download your Recovery Phrase as a .txt file but it is recommended that you encrypt this file immediately if you choose to download it.
8. Type in each word of your Recovery Phrase in order (be careful of capitals) and click [Continue].
Note: If you downloaded it as a .txt file, you can upload it here rather than type it in manually.
9. Set a passcode for your wallet. This step appears after you’ve confirmed your Recovery Phrase above.
After you set a passcode, click [Continue] when you’re done.
Accessing Your Browser Wallet
- Solfare is located in the top right-hand side of your browser’s toolbar.
- Don’t see Solfare? Click the icon that looks like a puzzle piece to access a list of your browser’s extensions where you will find Solfare.
- Click on the pin icon next to Solfare make it visible in the extension bar and easier to find in the future.
You’ve now successfully setup a Solflare wallet.
Find Your Wallet Address
Wallet addresses are needed to send or receive digital assets such as tokens.
Note:This address is safe to share publicly.
1. Open the Solflare browser extension and go to the wallet tab. Click [Recieve].
2. Here you can find a QR code and your wallet address. Click [Copy address].

How to Buy SOL Using MoonPay
Buying crypto can be done in multiple ways and using MoonPay is arguably the easiest. If you haven’t already opened an account on a crypto exchange like Binance or FTX, you can skip that step and buy crypto directly within your Solflare wallet with a credit card. This guide will show you how to do just that.
MoonPay is the fastest way for you to onboard to crypto and blockchains.
MoonPay does require a copy of your drivers license or relevant documentation and is a KYC compliant, centralized company that provides a fast and simple way to safely purchase cryptocurrencies on the go.
1. Locate the Solflare desktop extension in the top right-hand side of your browser’s toolbar.
2. Click on the Solflare Icon on the extension bar. This will bring you into the wallet tab, which in turn will present you with the Buy, Receive and Send options. Click [Buy] to redirect you to MoonPay.
3. Indicate how much of what cryptocurrency you want to purchase. In the example below $100 is shown.
The minimum purchase is $30. MoonPay supports over 40 fiat currencies including USD, EUR, CAD, AUD, CHF, and JPY.
You’re only able to purchase SOL tokens but once you’ve done that, you can use Solflare’s in-app swap to trade your SOL for any other SPL token.

4. Complete MoonPay’s verification process.
This is necessary step in purchasing cryptocurrency with MoonPay.
Although it may seem tedious, its about the same or less than you would expect from getting an account approved on a centralized crypto exchange.
5. Complete the transaction and you’re all set. Your wallet balance should be updated in the portfolio tab.
You’ve now purchased SOL straight from your Solflare wallet using MoonPay. You can swap that SOL for any other token (LTX) or NFT, or just hodl it.
After you’ve verified your MoonPay account, you won’t have to do that again. You can simply login and purchase more crypto.

Swap SOL to LTX within Solfare
1. Open Solflare wallet and go to the [Swap] tab which is located directly in the middle of the app.
2. Set the token you want to swap from – to, in our case SOL to LTX and type in how much you want to buy.
Once everything is set click [Swap].
It is really that easy!
Once you’ve confirmed the transaction, it’s then submitted to Solana’s validators and after 20 confirmations, the swap will be completed.
Check your portfolio page and you’ll see your balances updated.
You’ll also get a notification sent to your device with details of the transaction.

Your Secret Recovery Phrase is the MOST important part of your new wallet:
- Whoever has access to your Secret Recovery Phrase will have access to the wallet’s funds.
- If you lose your Secret Recovery Phrase, you will lose access to your wallet and its funds.
- Tanox LTX team members will never ask you for your Secret Recovery Phrase.
- Recovery Phrase is the only way to recover your wallet
Click [Continue]
4. You’ll be asked to choose two random words from the phrase to ensure that you didn’t lose it.
Click [Continue].
5. Set a passcode for your wallet. This step appears after you’ve confirmed your Recovery Phrase above.
When you choose to set a passcode, click [Continue] when you’re done.
You’ve now successfully setup a Solflare wallet.
You can now enjoy all the powerful features that Solflare has to offer.
But first, let’s get you some SOL!

5. Select a method to identify yourself with a document. You will be asked to upload images of your document. Click [Next].
6. Click [Next].
7. Paste your wallet adress created in Step 1. Click [Continue].
8. Add your credit card details. Select the check box and Click [Pay].
9. Wait for your transaction to complete. This may take up to a few minutes. Once the process is finished the balance will be updated in your Solflare wallet.
You’ve now purchased SOL using MoonPay. You can swap that SOL for any other token (LTX) or NFT, or just hodl it.
